COSTANTINO

The farm was founded by Constantine redevelopment of an old rural village that is spread over a hill of olive at the narrowest point of Italy between the Gulf of Lamezia Terme (Tyrrhenian Sea) and Catanzaro (Ionian Sea).

We were able to revive the village offering accommodation in comfortable rooms and apartments with every comfort, surrounded by a lovely botanical garden with a large pool , a fun mini golf, playground , hiking trail along the river that runs through the company and nature trails by bicycle.
The breakfast is an excellent opportunity to experience the hospitality of the family and try the homemade cakes and jams made on the farm of 160 hectares in biological, between olive groves, citrus trees, orchards and vegetable garden .

And it's possible to taste in the modern restaurant the typical Calabrian cuisine, expertly prepared using organic products and then relax in the lounge with TV, reading room and game room with pool table, darts, pinball, ping-pong, foosball.

There are meeting and conference rooms .We organize cooking classes, tastings etc. And it's available information material to explore Calabria between unspoiled landscapes, archaeological sites, castles and villages and its beautiful coasts.

For generations, the family Constantino is dedicated to the cultivation in 60ha of olive groves of the cultivar "Carolea". The olives are grown organically transformed into the modern mill to obtain a product of the highest quality Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil and DOP Lametia , following the whole production chain with passion and professionalism.

In the 40 hectares of arable land are cultivated local varieties of cereals following the rotation crop , in order to avoid the impoverishment of the land. From the cultivation of wheat, local variety called " incensalora " , it’s possible to get a good flour which is partly sold and partly used for the production of bread and pasta in the restaurant.

From 2ha of citrus groves are obtained blood oranges, oranges, vanilla, tarot , tangerines, lemons and citron , bergamot, mapo , tangelo , bitter orange etc ... which are processed in our laboratories into juice of citrus fruits, syrups , liqueurs , candied citrus fruits and jams.

The farm has an orchard, where the classic fruit trees are combined with local varieties and tropical plants, wild pear , apple lemongrass , rowan , grape and raisin grapes, annone , avocado, fejoja , banana . The fruit is mostly eaten fresh during breakfast and snacks , the rest is turned into jams , canned fruit, candied fruit , syrups , liqueurs and fruit juices.

The garden offers seasonal fresh vegetables and legumes each year that is used in the kitchen and processed as pickles, tomato sauce and sauces in our laboratories.

In the garden of aromatic plants growing herbs used to flavor the oil extra virgin organic olive, that becomes a great condiment , but also to produce herbal teas and for flavoring dishes .
The woods, at last , are excellent for the production of dried fruit, nuts , hazelnuts, almonds , pine nuts and chestnuts, as well as being useful for the branches used to power biomass boilers .
