Matera and Altamura
You will visit the oldest city in the world still inhabited that will charm you with its wonderful Sassi, a UNESCO heritage site. Matera has gained international fame for its ancient town, the "Sassi di Matera". The Sassi originatedin a prehistoric troglodyte settlement, and these dwellings are thought to be among the first ever humansettlements in what is now Italy.
Our guide will let you discover all the secrets of the European Capital of Culture 2019 and make you taste the typical delicacies of the area. Next stop: Altamura, an ancient city known for its DOP bread. You will visit the oldest bakeryin the city where, after seeing how bread and focaccia are produced, you will appreciate the freshly baked products.
Polignano a mare and cellar
Polignano a Mare is a pearl lying on the Adriatic coast. The white houses of the old town and the balconies overlooking the sea will offer you an unforgettable panorama. Our guide in rickshaw will tell you the secrets of the village and take you to the most picturesque spots!
An unforgettable tour in the picturesque old town, narrow streets and balconies overlooking the sea awaits you. You
will see the entire cost of Polignano, by the statue of Domenico Modugno until the Hermit Scoglio. We will tell stories and anecdotes about the places, the people and the traditions of the past.
At the end of the tour you will be offered local products like ice cream, cake, or a glass of wine and bagels. It is also possible to take the tour in a rickshaw, on foot, by buggy bee and boat.
The visit continues in a vineyard with its cellar where our expert sommelier will unveil the secrets of wine and make you taste five kinds of it. You will taste excellent Apulian PDO wines in combination with freshlocal PGI and PDO products: mozzarella, burrata, various types of cheese accompanied by homemade jams, crouton served with delicious creams and patés and many other Apulian specialties.
The white city: Ostuni is known for its historical center painted with a shiny white that stands on the hill. The ancient gates of the city, the ramparts, the splendid cathedral.from an ape calessino you will admire the wonders of the city and enjoy the panorama that open suddenly over the sea. And to discover all the secrets of the olive oil the visit continues in a hypogeum crusher .
You will Live an unforgettable experience by visiting one of the oldest farm in Apulia. The farm is surrounded by amonumental olive grove made up of very old olive trees with sculptural and fascinating forms.
The visit begins in the hypogeum crusher of a probable Roman era with stone mill, tanks,fireplace, stable and olive grove. The visit will continue in the first nucleus dating back to the 11th century, which includes, in addition to the dwelling, the barn and the stable, a very rare little stable that has remained untouched. You will also see the 16thcentury massar house which include the church with its stone altar, the shepherd’s house, the sheepfold, the stables and the oven. The visit ends with a blind test of extra virgin olive oil produced by the farmer.
Alberobello and Organic Masseria
Today you will find out how mozzarella is made in a typical organic farm where you will enjoy typical Apulian products produced directly in the” Masseria”.
Visit and tasting in a farm surrounded by the Apulian countryside, where the production of dairy products and organic cheese takes place. In the farm you will visit the breeding of animals raised according to the biological method, respecting the species ethology and criteria for animal welfare.
You will also visit the laboratory where the milk processing takes place, the production of dairy products and the packaging. Your experience will end with the tasting of mozzarella and various types of cheese that you could also buy and take them home with you. The Typical Apulian Wine named ”Primitivo” which name comes from old latin word “primativus” will be served.
After the tasting you will visit the capital of “Trulli”. As you walk into the historical center you will feel like in a fairytale made of magical small pointed houses, the famous trulli of Alberobello, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Castellana Caves and Cooking Class
It’s the Grottoes time: 3 km of tunnels and caves made of glittering stalactites and stalagmites that culminate in the White Grotto so defined for the richness and whitish of the alabaster. Follow your cooking lesson: you will meet our chef and learn the secrets of traditional Apulian cuisine handed down by our grandmothers. You will prepare classic recipes such as fresh hand-made orecchiette (pasta) with “cime di rape”(plant like broccoli),focaccia and many other delicacies. In the end you will enjoy all the delicious you prepared.
